How do you not miss out on emails?

For most of us email communication has become such an integral part of our day-to-day life and more so in our professional life. This means that there’s absolutely no room for us to miss out on important conversations.

And, yet we keep missing out on emails and ‘I missed your email’ is a common excuse we hear more often than not. It happens with me and i know it happens with a lot of others. So, how do you not miss out on emails?

First, let’s look at some of the ways we usually miss out on emails —

1. We didn’t actually miss that email, we read it and thought of replying to it when we’ve more time and then the email was never followed up.
2. We genuinely missed the email due to the barrage of spam and promotional emails that land in our Inbox.

Now, in the above scenarios, wouldn’t it be nice to get some sort of reminder, so that we don’t miss out on emails that actually need our attention? Recap to the Rescue!

I used to miss out on emails (due to above mentioned reasons), but ever since Recap, my workflow has improved and i’ve become a lot more diligent at emailing. So, how did it happen?

1. I got an email from a colleague that didn’t require immediate attention, so at that moment, I thought to myself that I could reply later, but as you can probably imagine, it had completely skipped my mind by the end of the day. Recap brought it up next day and that’s when I actually remembered to write back to him. Happened multiple times and every time Recap was my insurance.
2. Missing out emails due to way too many of them in the inbox is a very common thing these days. For me, it was a credit card due date email and completely missing that email would’ve meant I would end up paying a penalty. Again, Recap notified me about it at the right time and I was able to take care of the payment. Whew!

These are just some of the few instances when Recap had my back. At the end of the day, Recap to me has been more like a personal assistant ensuring that i don’t miss out on emails.
