A line of few words

When Tidy Inbox is enabled in Newton, Newsletters and Social Media mails will automatically skip inbox and go into the appropriate Low Priority folders. You can also manually move mails between Inbox and Low Priority folders, to train Newton to do the same with similar emails in the future.

When mails are moved between these folders, we wanted the toast message to also communicate that Newton learns your preference, rather than simply say ‘Moved’. So, this is how we went about getting the copy right:

Moved. Future emails from this sender will now land in inbox.

Good, but too long for a toast message. Also, can we lose the folder name and make it more generic?

Moved. Future emails from this sender will follow suit.

Better. Can we make it more shorter?

Moved. Also future emails from this sender.
Moved (So will future emails from this sender)

The second part in brackets is working. However ‘this sender’ will not work for bulk moving.

Moved (So will future emails from them)

As the sender of these mails is a brand, ‘from them’ works in all cases.
We went live with this one. But we were not absolutely happy and so, we continued to iterate.

Moved (same will apply for future emails)

Clearer than the previous one. Can we go shorter?

Moved (same goes for future emails)

Shorter, but can be better.

Moved (will do the same in the future)

Casual and conversational, like an assistant. Good direction.

Moved (will remember that in the future)

Nice. Still shorter?

Moved (will remember that)

We liked this one. Short & crisp and it communicates the idea.

We updated the message with this one in the next update.
