Signatures

Writing & sending

Each email account can have several signatures, and one of them can be the default that Newton adds to new emails. You can manage them on desktop, on your phone or at account.newtonhq.com.

Steps

Desktop

  1. Open Settings: press ⌘, on Mac, or Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux.
  2. Go to Accounts and select the account.
  3. Under Email signature, click Manage Signatures, then New Signature.
  4. Enter a Name and write your signature. Use Visual to format it, or HTML to paste your own code.
  5. Switch on Set as default if you want it added to new emails, then click Save Signature.

To edit or delete a signature, or make it the default, click ••• next to it.

iPhone, iPad & Android

  1. Open the menu and tap the Settings gear at the bottom.
  2. Tap Accounts, then the account.
  3. Tap Signatures, then New signature. On Android, tap +.
  4. Enter a Name and type your signature under Signature Content.
  5. Switch on Default Signature to add it to new emails, then tap Save.

Web

  1. Sign in at account.newtonhq.com and go to Accounts.
  2. Select the account and click Manage Signatures.
  3. Enter a Name and the Content, then click Create Signature.
  4. Click Set default next to the signature you want added to new emails.

To use a different signature in one email, choose it from Signatures at the bottom of the desktop compose window, or tap the signature button in the compose toolbar on your phone. Choose No signature to leave it out.

Good to know

  • The signature editor on your phone is plain text. For formatting, links or images, create and edit the signature on desktop or the web.
  • Signatures belong to an email account and appear on all your devices. You can't set a separate signature for each alias yet.
  • Want a designed signature? In the desktop editor, click Newton signature builder, then copy the result and paste it into the editor.
  • On a shared team mailbox, a team admin sets the signatures.
