Write with AI writes a new email, or rewrites the one you're working on, from a short instruction. It's in the compose window on desktop and on your phone, on every plan.
Steps
Desktop
In the compose window, click the sparkle button (Write with AI) at the bottom.
Describe what you want, for example "Thank them and suggest Tuesday at 3", and press Enter.
If you've already written something, describe the change instead, or click a quick edit: Shorten, More formal, Friendlier or Fix grammar.
The result replaces your draft. Click Undo to go back.
To rewrite only part of the email, select it and click Improve in the bar that appears. The arrow next to it offers Shorten, Tone and Grammar, or you can type your own instruction. Then click Keep or Discard.
iPhone, iPad & Android
In the compose screen, tap the sparkle in the toolbar.
Describe what you want and tap the send arrow.
If you've already written something, describe the change instead, or tap a quick edit: Shorten, More formal, Friendlier or Fix grammar.
Tap Undo to go back, or × to close the AI bar.
To teach it how you write, sign in at account.newtonhq.com, go to General, fill in Custom instructions under Compose AI and click Save. They apply whenever it writes or rewrites a whole email, on every device.
Good to know
Newton sends your instruction, the draft, the subject, your recipients' names and addresses, the earlier messages in the conversation and your name through its server to an AI model. Newton records that you used the feature, not the text. Your custom instructions are stored with your Newton account.
There's a daily limit, the same on every plan. When you reach it, you'll see Daily AI limit reached — try again tomorrow.
Your signature and the quoted earlier messages stay as they are.
Rewriting a selected part of an email is on desktop only.
