Newton can alert you when new mail arrives in your Inbox. Turn notifications on once on each phone and computer where you use Newton.
Steps
Desktop
Open Settings: press ⌘, on Mac, or Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux.
Go to the General tab.
Under Notifications, click Send test next to Test notification.
If no notification appears, click Open settings next to System notifications and allow notifications for Newton. On Mac this opens Newton's page in System Settings › Notifications; on Windows it opens Notifications in Windows Settings.
On Linux, Open settings doesn't open anything yet. Turn notifications on in your desktop environment's own settings.
iPhone & iPad
Open the menu and tap the Settings gear at the bottom.
Tap Notifications.
If you see Notifications are turned off, tap it and allow notifications. If you said no before, this opens iOS Settings, where you can turn on Allow Notifications for Newton.
When it says Notifications are on, tap Send test notification to check.
Android
Open the menu and tap the Settings gear at the bottom.
Tap Notifications.
Under Turn on notifications, tap Enable and allow notifications. If you turned them off before, you'll see Notifications are turned off instead: tap Open Settings and turn them on for Newton.
When it says Notifications are on, tap Send test notification to check.
Good to know
Only new mail in your Inbox sends a notification. There are none for other folders or labels, and mail that Tidy Inbox moves to Low Priority arrives quietly.
On desktop, Newton has to be running. Closing the window keeps it running in the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows and Linux); quitting stops notifications.
On your phone or Mac, you can turn notifications off for one account or change its sound.
