And... we have lift-off

I’m excited to share that Newton Mail app is available again, starting February 5th, 2019.

CloudMagic, the company behind Newton mail, was acquired by Essential in December and we have been hard at work bringing Newton back to our community. Our vision, core team, and commitment to provide you with a space age email experience remain unchanged.

Starting today, Newton Mail is available to download and sign up on your iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows devices. It’s free to use on all your devices in all its goodness for 14 days. After that, it is $49.99 per year. Subscribe only if you’d like to continue after the free 14 day trial; no strings attached.

What’s new to look out for?

As we were working out the details (mostly backend related and integration with Essential team) of our re-launch, we did some little-big UX improvements that were long pending in our roadmap. Here are the highlights:

1. Boring: Delete single mail in a thread. Also support for ‘Mark unread from here.’
2. Yay: Ability to resize the Mac Compose window.
3. OMG: Add mails to OmniFocus, Things, 2doapp and Bear.
4. Finally: Lot of improvements on Mac Compose

• Copy paste strips off a lot of unnecessary style but will retain basic formatting like links, line breaks and lists.
• To make a numbered list just type ‘1.’ and for bulleted list type — (hyphen).

And… most importantly…. 🥁

• Copy paste a Giphy url and hit enter to insert it inline. Even better, you don’t even have to look for the GIF image’s url, just copy the Giphy page url from the browser and paste to see the magic. You can also insert GIFs using the Giphy keyboard on the iOS app.
